General Information
Candlelight Ranch offers therapeutic and educational equine activities. Our equine programs helps participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with horses, and then processing feeling, behaviors, and patterns.
EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING (EAL) gives students an opportunity to practice the social skills they are learning in the classroom in an environment where they get immediate feedback from peers, horses, and facilitators. All equine programs are conducted on the ground and allow children to interact directly with the horses.
Children enhance their ability to demonstrate the following through their participation in activities involving horses:
- teamwork
- responsibility
- work ethic
- healthy communication
- improved socialization
- leadership
Each equine activities are customized with a specific objective and underlying goal to meet the needs’ of the children participating in EAL. This experiential therapy helps children cope with problems that serve as barriers to mental health and assists them in growing toward their highest level of wellness.
