My career at Candlelight Ranch started out as a joint internship with Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge. With no previous experience in working with children, I had no clue what to expect. It turns out that I really enjoyed it and found myself voluntarily working many hours even on my off days.
From a young age, I always enjoyed being outdoors with my grandpa and spending time on his ranch. That love for nature and animals led me to peruse a B.S. degree from Prairie View A&M University, in Agriculture with an Animal Science concentration. Since working here at Candlelight, I have learned a lot about myself as a leader, mentor and positive figure for these kids. My objective is to help children learn to have fun in nature, love the outdoors and appreciate all of its mysteries and beautiful aesthetics. This place, the people, and the mission is something I love being a part of.
