Joel brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, most notably with the YMCA, where he served in executive roles overseeing multi-site operations, building strong teams, and expanding access to programs that strengthen communities.
Throughout his career, Joel has been driven by a simple belief: when people are given the right environment and support, they grow. That belief is what drew him to Candlelight Ranch.
He is passionate about creating opportunities for children, families, and individuals to connect—with nature, with others, and with themselves. Joel is committed to building on the Ranch’s strong foundation, deepening its impact, and ensuring more people have access to the kind of experiences that can truly change lives.
Born and raised in Texas, Joel and his wife, Shahna have three grown children and a grandson. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors—playing golf, hiking, camping, and fishing—and reading.
