We had a busy Fall at the Ranch full of giving and gratitude! We are proud and incredibly thankful to be recipients of the Abilities Experience Grant through Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and Young Men’s Service League – Hill Country Chapter’s Ultimate Gift!
In early November, 26 young men of Pi Kappa Phi fraternities from various Texas Universities donated an entire weekend of their time and hard work to Candlelight Ranch to build an accessible natural playground. The young men built new accessible elements including a beautiful and whimsical play house, sensory table, natural weaving stations and assisted in general Ranch beautification projects. It has been a joy watching children of all abilities play and explore the wonders of nature through this new addition! Thank you, Pi Kappa Phi!
We are so very thankful to the Hill Country Chapter of YMSL for selecting us as the recipient of their Ultimate Gift! The mother/son teams raised funds to gift Candlelight Ranch a fully wheelchair accessible Ga-Ga pit and other lawn games! These new additions provide opportunities for positive learning and social interactions while minimizing physical limitation barriers! In addition, the mothers and son teams of the chapter have completed two days of Ranch Beautification efforts helping restore the land through cedar brush remediation.
We are are overjoyed and humbled at the giving nature of those in our community and thank all who were involved in these greatly beneficial projects! We can’t wait to see how much joy the new additions will bring to children and families in 2019!
