Candlelight Ranch provides educational, nature-based experiences where children and families of all abilities can learn, explore and heal—while building lasting connections to nature, themselves and each other.
Located on 40 acres of Texas Hill Country along Lake Travis, Candlelight Ranch is a safe, inclusive space where children discover the wonders of the outdoors—many for the very first time. Through hands-on environmental education, outdoor adventure, and experiences designed for children of all abilities and backgrounds, we empower young people to build confidence, overcome challenges and grow in their curiosity of the natural world.
Our programs serve children with disabilities, military families, foster and adoptive families, and youth facing social, emotional, or financial hardships. Activities like zip-lining, hiking, equine experiences, gardening and science-based learning help participants gain new skills, reconnect with family and discover the healing power of nature.
For over 25 years, Candlelight Ranch has been a place where children overcome fears, families grow closer and a love for nature takes root. Through year-round programs that combine outdoor adventure with hands-on environmental education, we empower youth of all abilities to build confidence, resilience and a lasting connection to the natural world.
We believe the outdoors should be accessible to every child and family. That’s why we partner with other 40 schools and youth-serving nonprofits, offer programs at no cost to participants and provide adaptive equipment, inclusive facilities and customized experiences designed to meet the unique needs of all who visit. Whether learning about native plants, soaring down a zip-line, or simply finding peace beneath the trees, every visitor leaves Candlelight Ranch with new knowledge, joyful memories and the confidence to keep exploring.
